Thank you for sharing this with us, Germán. I hope you find new shapes and ways to express your creativity, that will feel vitalising and fun, very soon...
Hi German, thanks for sharing your art journey, as ever, It's nice to see the thinking that happens behind the art. As an art professional, you're used to briefs and deadlines: I'm curious to know, do you also create art impulsively? - When you don't have a plan or deadline, what art comes out? It's become a little cringe to say 'follow your joy,' but I've noticed that the art I make compulsively, the art that makes me happy, is very different from the art I made when I was a concept artist. When I put a goal in front of this, it quickly dissipates. What's it like for you?
Hey Mike! That's a very good comment. I got so used to "production" mindset that I slowly forgot to enjoy the art without a schedule or a tight plan.
So I am working on exactly that. Having my production work for games and then exploring some things for fun, but I have to do an active approach so my brain doesn't try to structure everything I do, if it makes sense
Sounds weird but, did it come natural to you to keep doing "art impulsively"?
This has been something I’ve been feeling lately as well. While I don’t know how to resolve this as well, I’m grateful ‘cause I felt seen at this very moment, so thank you.
Glad to read this. Not a great feeling but I have been finding that action (creating shit) and reflecting on it (thinking if I like the direction, if it's worth pursuing, if it helps my goals, etc) is helping a lot. Basically trying to be more consious about what I do and removing external noise.
Let me know if you find out what works for you to resolve it. Even tho I think we will find ourselves feeling this again and again it helps to see what other people try.
Same here my dude, hope you find your ways!
The legend! Thanks Mathias, much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing what you are trying to solve this.
So far I am starting to take some action, but old habits are hard to break.

Much appreciated <3
Working on it, hopefully what I am doing now and the habits I am trying to fix will work out and will share it here soon :)
